Would that not be a good feature to have? I have been in this situation umpteen number of times where I have chosen to see some specific rows in Microsoft Excel; once done reviewing the data, I would want to see only the rest of the rows, this would have been possible by providing a “Invert Selection” option along with the (Select All) that is provided by default.

Wonder why this is not the case. I have seen the invert selection is very few applications I have used, one that comes to mind is Picasa (oh maybe only Google does provide it?).
Thoughts?

As a user this has bothered me for a long time. i don't understand why this feature is not provided.
However, as a developer, this always comes last in my priority as its nice to have as it's considered nice to have.
In the apps we wrote, we provided this feature sometimes and skipped sometimes ( u see timelines !! ).
Most graphics programs includes an invert selection...it enables the designer to select the foreground object then invert to select the background and delete it at once (or fill it with a color).
The shortcut key for it is ctrl+shift+i Maybe it will work in Excel...I'm too lazy to check now.
